Mr. Jacob Scandrett, Principal
Hello! Welcome to Murray County Central High School. As the principal of our secondary school, I am proud to be a part of a district with such a rich history and reputation of excellence in academics, the arts, athletics and activities. This tradition of excellence speaks volumes to the commitment of our community to support the students and staff of Murray County Central.
I recently had a conversation with a father who was debating where to send his child to school. His question to me was ‘Why Murray County Central?’ As I spoke with the father, I discussed MCC’s outstanding academic programming, our caring and supportive teaching staff, the strong sense of school spirit and climate that feels almost family like, and how our community consistently steps up to help our kids. Above all this, however, I mentioned that our staff values the power of building positive relationships with students. They understand that each student is a unique individual with specific set of gifts and abilities and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. These relationships help to motivate and inspire individuals to achieve their highest potential. It is also in the context of these relationships that we teach the values of respect, responsibility, and integrity that will guide our students to use their knowledge wisely as productive, contributing citizens.
