Summer Food

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. The program is sponsored by the USDA and administered by the Department of Education. MCC School District is a proud sponsor of the SFSP.  As a sponsor, MCC provides free meals to all children ages 1-18. Last summer our average daily participation was 75 children and since the programs start, we have served over 6,300 free meals!

In addition to providing a free lunch, the program is enhanced by adding a daily activity to engage the children.  The Slayton Police Department, Murray County Ambulance and Slayton Fire Department have all been to visit.  We have offered arts and crafts, baking, outdoor activities like 4-square and water balloons!

We are reaching out in hopes of securing donations from either groups or individuals, which will allow us to continue the SFSP through July of this year, 2019.  We sincerely appreciate any support you may be able to give.
