The period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 2169 shall begin on July 29, 2024 and shall close on August 12, 2024. An affidavit of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk (Superintendent's Office) and the $2 filing fee paid prior to 5:00 o'clock PM on August 12, 2024.

The School Board is a six-member team of area residents elected at-large to serve four-year terms. Elections for three seats are held every two years. The Murray County Central School District School Board usually holds its regular business meetings on the second Monday evening of every month. Meetings generally begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held in the Murray County Central High School library, located at 2420 28th Street in Slayton.
