As we approach the end of calendar year 2025 and prepare to welcome 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on the year behind us, highlight the 2025–2026 school year thus far, and express my sincere appreciation to our students, staff, families, and the entire Murray County Central community.
The past year has been one of continued dedication and resilience. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and remained focused on what matters most—providing a high-quality education and a safe, supportive learning environment for every student. I am proud of the commitment shown daily by our staff and the strong partnership we share with our families and community members.
As the 2025–2026 school year is nearing the halfway point (January 16th), it has been encouraging to see positive momentum across our schools PK-12. Our students continue to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, supported by caring educators and support staff who go above and beyond to meet their needs. We have also seen strong participation in activities, fine arts, and athletics, which play an important role in developing well-rounded students and fostering school pride.
Looking ahead to 2026, our district will remain firmly guided by our Strategic Plan. We will continue to focus our efforts in the key areas of student achievement, student support, communication, finance and budget, and facilities. Each of these priorities is essential to ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of our district.
An important part of this work includes listening to our families. In the coming weeks, we will be releasing the results of our recent parent and guardian satisfaction survey. This feedback is invaluable, and we are committed to using it as a tool for continuous improvement, celebrating areas of strength while addressing opportunities for growth in a thoughtful and transparent manner.
As we enter the holiday season, I want to thank you for your ongoing support of the District, trust, and partnership. Schools thrive when communities come together, and we are fortunate to have such strong support for our students and staff here at MCC.
On behalf of the Murray County Central School District, I wish you and your families a joyful holiday season and a healthy, prosperous New Year. We look forward to continuing our work together in 2026 in service of our students and our community.
