As we reflect on this past year, there have many positives that have contributed to a successful and meaningful school year. Our community showed tremendous support by approving the proposed operating referendum to help us stay financially stable as well as to maintain our focus on the high-quality educational experience that our students and community have come to expect. Additionally, we were able to bring back staff at the high school and elementary levels to prioritize smaller class sizes in core subject areas as a direct result of the referendum. Another positive we observed was an increase in attentiveness and engagement in the classroom after modifying our cell phone policies for students. We also became more intentional in the classroom this year with the rise of AI and had to adjust our instruction accordingly to maximize authentic and meaningful student learning.

As we close out the year, I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to serve as MCC’s High School principal. It has truly been a privilege and an honor. I am excited to transition to my new role as a 5th and 6th grade science teacher and am looking forward to continuing to build strong relationships with students and families in a different capacity.

I am truly grateful for the unending support of our community. Your commitment to our students makes all of this possible. Thank you for your partnership and for always putting the students of MCC first.

Sincerely,

Jake Scandrett- HS Principal
