P-EBT Program

More than 265,000 Minnesota children have received P-EBT benefits since the USDA authorized the program.  P-EBT is a temporary food benefit issued to children of families that qualify for free or reduced priced meals during the traditional school year.  Phase 1 of P-EBT benefits have already been issued.  The deadline for  Phase 2 is September 3, 2021.  You may be considered for Phase 2 whether or not you received benefits in Phase 1.

If you are already approved for free or reduced-price school meals, SNAP, MFIP or Tribal TANF, you do not need to take any action.  Funds will be added to your existing card if you have one.  If you do not have one, one will be sent to you if you qualify for P-EBT.  Do NOT destroy your card.

If you believe your child may qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, please complete the application located in your JMC Parent Portal as soon as possible. You may also request a paper copy to complete and return to school. New applications must be approved by September 3 in order to qualify Phase 2 P-EBT.

Qualifying for free or reduced price meals does not guarantee your children will receive P-EBT, however, it is a necessary requirement to be considered.
