Rebel Round UP

January 2022

22-23 Registration

It’s that time of year again!  During the first week of January 31-February 4 students in grade 7-11 will be attending Registration Meetings to get information for their next year’s class schedule.  Students will be given registration sheets which MUST be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to their AP teacher by February 14.  If a student does not turn in a registration form, then their classes are picked for them.  Once all the forms are in, then students will enter their choices online through their JMC portal.  This will be done during school, in case they have any questions.

It is each student’s responsibility to make sure they take all the classes required to graduate.  Of course they will be meeting with their school counselor to review this.  There is a list of the graduation requirements on the MCC website.  If you search “graduation requirements” you will find this form.  The Course Catalog is also located on the school website, so you can look up a description of the classes we offer.

MCC provides a wide variety of educational opportunities.  Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) and College In the School are two dual-credit programs.  Students can earn college credits and high school credits at the same time!  In order to qualify for these programs, Juniors must be in the top 1/3 of their class and Seniors must be in the top ½ based on their Grade Point Average.  Students who wish to enroll in these programs must do so by May 30.

We also have other programs such as the CEO program which Mr. Scandrett has outlined in detail and the Medical Careers and Med Terminology classes.  Each year there are also opportunities to take two college classes in the summer and also receive high school credit.

For more information on course registration and the other opportunities available, contact the MCC Counseling office at 507-836-1702.
