Murray County Central Rebels Defeats Heron-Lake Okabena/Fulda Coyotes.
Krew Schneider drove in four runs on two hits to lead MCC past Heron-Lake Okabena/Fulda Coyotes 16-4 on Thursday at Slayton. Schneider singled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.
The Rebels won thanks in part to 10 runs in the first inning. Colton Reierson induced Schneider to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, Danny Larson drew a walk, scoring one run, Gabe Tentinger singled, scoring one run, Carter Hanson singled, scoring one run, Teague Meyer drew a walk, scoring one run, Tristan Behrends was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Schneider singled, scoring three runs.
MCC extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI doubles by Hanson and Meyer.
The Rebels continued to extend their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Schneider, Hanson, and Meyer.
Behrends earned the win for the MCC Rebels. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Finn Schneider tossed one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for MCC in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out two and walking one.
Murray County Central tallied 11 hits in the game. Meyer and Hanson each collected three hits for the Rebels.
