MCC softball drops their opener in Cottonwood 11-0 to Lakeview.

Boys results from the Slayton Country Club. WWG/HLO/F shoots a 189 & MCC 212. Individual scores for MCC are as follows: Kaden Landsman-45, Hunter Reese-56, Gary Plotz-54, Jett Veldhuisen-57, Keegan Wiekeraad-59 and Edwin Nepp-71.

MCC baseball wins their opener 7-0 over Wabasso! MCC scored five runs in the third inning. Krew Schneider singled, scoring two runs, Danny Larson lined out, scoring one run, and Tristan Behrends singled, scoring two runs. MCC got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Gabe Tentinger walked, and Behrends hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Schneider earned the win for MCC. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none. Teague Meyer tossed two innings of shutout ball for the Rebels in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out three and walking none. Behrends led MCC with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Schneider and Meyer each collected three hits for the Rebels. MCC ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. The MCC Speech team competed in the RTR Knights Invitational. The team took 3rd place. In Duo, Lila and Annie Scandrett earned a mini lightsaber. In Extemporaneous Reading, Cassie Scandrett earned a mini lightsaber. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Holland Vogel placed 1st and Wesley Hause placed 2nd. In Humorous, Ethan Parrie placed 1st, Walker Biren earned a mini lightsaber, and Logan Stoel earned a mini lightsaber. In Original Oratory, Lila Scandrett placed 1st. In Prose, Annie Scandrett placed 2nd, Lilly Gertsema placed 6th and Brecken Larson earned a mini lightsaber.

It was a great day today for our 5-8 students participating in the Choral Festival. Special thanks to Dr. Kingsbury, Mrs Gergen and Mr. Holton for all their work in making this day possible!

The 5th and 6th grade Math Masters teams competed today in Marshall. Over 250 students and about 50 teams competed across three grade levels. For the 5th grade competition, the MCC team placed 12th place. In the 6th grade competition, the two MCC teams placed 5th and 2nd! For the individual portion of the competition, Ryker Almich placed 8th, Zeplin Baumberger placed 6th, and Casper Harms placed 4th! Great job to everyone who participated!
